About us

In 2009, Anong House was built by Oil Tuwanon on the estate of her parents. It was decided from the start that this would be an oasis of green space in the crowded inner moat area of Chiang Mai. There are only four rooms, which allow Oil to stress the personal service and natural beauty of Anong House. A large area of grass has been left where you can enjoy the sunshine and also a wide porch where you can relax in the shade.All rooms are air-conditioned and have en suite bathrooms with hot showers. Free WiFi. Communal refrigerator.

Now closed and demolished....

We'd stayed here several times so phoned Oil, the owner, to book before we left for Thailand. Turns out she'd sold it. So sad to see that it's now just a building site with that lovely garden all gone (although it looks like the new owners kept the huge tamarind tree). Big concrete structure in the works, replacing the row of four rooms. It was too good to last....
