Fishermans Cafe, Pattaya

I really enjoyed dinner at this restaurant last night and it was certainly one of the best Indian meals that I have had in Thailand. I was a bit worried when I saw the menu , as it is ENORMOUS which isn’t always a good sign , but in this case I needn’t have worried as my chicken madras and vegetable korma were delicious. My guest chose a Western dish and was very pleased with it. I found it to be very good value and I liked the view over the lake. There was little ambience last night as we were the only diners.

Following so many nice reviews in the Breakfast Club Pattaya FB group the big day arrived on my bucket list, able to try, because of the available delivery to Jomtien... ( must to order before 11 AM and only one delivery car orherways in the middle of the dark side of the city, no any transports to there ) My order was my favourite chicken saag and unable to decide between chicken rogan josh ( I never tried yet ) the chicken madras.... Gareth recommended the madras, so let it be... accompanied with pulao rice and garlic naan. Chicken saag was very good, but no any better, than what I tried in Masala Twist... maybe a little heavier, generous sauce with less generous portion of chicken, but anyway a really huge portion. As an indian cousine illiterate, I can’t decide if it was good or not, but the first saag I felt the taste of the spinach... anyway, I liked this news... When I opened the plastic bag and first smelled the madras I felt the breeze on my spine... It tasted so good... it was a culinary orgy to make it mine. Something heavenly exeptional .... However in this meal the meat portion was plenty, so less sauce to enjoy... huge portion too... If I was talking about huge portions, then I can’t describe the mountain of the pulao rice ( jeera rice ) I received... It was good, but my ignorant taste liked much better the Little India version... ( more tasty, more herbal ) Garlic naan was very nice and big, but a pale shadow to compare with the Masala Twist’s garlic naan was sprinkled full with garlic slivers... All in all, highly recommended, fine tastes, quality food... the best for those who eats in pair, one naan, one pulao rice, two mains and both will happily full. ( I ate from everything the half ) I’m sure it wasn’t the last order... Chicken saag: 210 baht, Chicken Madras: 190 baht , jeera rice: 70 baht, garlic naan: 70 baht This chicken korma from New Fisherman’s won the others with a KO... It was heavy, full with fine aromats, I felt the „ material „ in the sauce... and a huge portion again... 220 baht

3rd visit I ate the Chicken Jalfrezi and it was fantastic. Great service plenty of chicken and so very tasty. Best I've had

Small lunch spot that has fantastic sandwiches. The Caribbean Turkey sandwich was pilled high with tender turkey. The Lazy Way Burger is huge and delicious. Two tender juicy 1/4 # burgers with all the fixings. And the Yuca fries were very good. Will definitely be back. Only have a couple tables outside but sandwiches are served in a box so you can easily carry them to any nearby sitting.

After living in central pattaya for a few years we have now moved to mab prachan area and were eager to find an Indian restaurant as it's my 2nd favourite cuisine. We have now eaten here many times and each time they never fail to deliver quality tasty Indian food. this place beats down 99% of the Indian restaurants we have tried in Pattaya.. Easily found if you are in the mab prachan area, just keep following the road around the lake and the restaurant is well sign posted. Plenty of tables n chairs with plenty of space between them. Some of the tables at the front are in the open with nice views of the lake, but there are also plenty of tables undercover if it happens to be raining. An open plan restaurant so fan cooled. Menu has a good variety of different indian dishes, also a good selection of dishes for vegetarians too. Its actually only the 2nd place Ive been able to find a peshwari naan, all other Indian restaurants only have butter/plain or oinion naans... You can see the naans being prepped and cooked to. The food given is a very good portion size, Ive still yet to be able to finish off a full meal, dont be disillusioned that the portion size is a cover for the taste because its far from the truth. Full of flavours as you should expect from indian food, some dishes gently garnished with coriander that gives the dish that fragrant kick. Plenty of drinks for choice, from yoghurt lassi to Thatchers cider and spirits in between. Service has always been friendly, helpfull and with a smile. Dont forget that this is Thailand and you wont get a silver service waitress but the girls are all friendly enough to take your orders and assist where needed. TBH the first time we went there the girls seemed shy, timid or possibly scared from all the (what I think is unfair) negitive criticism. This place is by far up their with our favourite 2 Indian restaurants to eat around the Pattaya area and a place we will happily continue to use!!
