Comfortable stay - friendly hosts
We stayed at Grandma’s for 4 nights. The bed was comfortable, it’s about a 5-10 minute walk from Bus Terminal 1/night market. You can rent scoopy’s/clicks from them (B200/B250 per day), they come with a full tank of fuel so you only pay for what you use. Breakfast and coffee is provided (but we didn’t try any of it). The WiFi is strong. The shower is ok but could be a little stronger. Room was cleaned every single day with water provided and clean towels. Would definitely stay here again next time. Thanks, Grandma
Clean, great location and value for money food
I enjoyed my 3 night stay at Grandma Kaew house. A lovely small family run guesthouse. I found it clean and the location was very convenient. It’s tucked away down a quiet alley but close to night bazaar and bus station. Many eating options nearby. The room I was in (4) has a big fridge, air con, tv (although I couldn’t find any English speaking channels) a table and two chairs and a big cupboard. It’s no frills but great value for money. They can assist with scooter hire and day tours. I also booked airport transportation with them. Really lovely family. My only suggestion would be to put a hook in the bathroom for hanging your clothes.
Definitely a Five!
Definitely a 5! This is a budget guesthouse that meets or exceeds all expectations. Sonthaya and David, the husband/wife owners are there and ready to answer questions as well as help on a daily basis. They are very kind and will do as much as possible to help their guests. I felt very welcome. The location, on a quiet narrow street, is ideal with its proximity to the city center and many excellent restaurants. As for the room--very clean, cheerful, well appointed, quiet, and with very good, dependable wifi is a pleasure to return to after a long walk through the city. I will definitely stay here again should I return to Chiang Rai.
Perfect. Every little detail has been thought of. Very clean and spacious rooms with sizeable bathroom. Nicely decorated and well maintained throughout. All staff lovely smiling and considerate. Beds and pillows are super comfortable with fresh white cotton linen. Rooms cleaned and stocks of water ( included) towels etc replenished daily. Kettle, cups and tea/coffee in room and nice big fridge with ice box. Lot's of plug points. I counted about 10 in my room! Fair sized flat screen TV wall mounted and looked like there were many options to watch although I didn't use it. Quiet and peaceful with the main street a short walk away. Seating area on landing outside each room with ashtrays for smokers. They also offer tea/coffee and toast with fruit at no extra charge in the mornings. Will be my first choice in Chiang Rai from now on. …
