Highly entertaining...

The visit to this elephant park was definitely one of the highlight of my trip to Chiang Mai. The park is very clean and well maintained. The elephant show was very entertaining and shows the playful side of these strong yet gentle creatures. They have been trained to paint and play games. No doubt it is not natural but I would prefer they be doing these in a safe environment rather than being led around the streets of Bangkok or working in the jungle pulling logs. Generally, they seem to be well fed and happy. Feeding the elephants shows me how strong they really are.... I am sure kids would enjoy this experience. Photo opportunities are aplenty at the end of the show. This is a must visit spot in Chiang Mai!

Educational and entertaining

Watch the elephants get a bath in the river, feed, ride and get kissed by an elephant and visit the nursery.

Enjoyable show but treatment of the elephants were questionable

Came here as part of a package tour. The elephant show was enjoyable. Wouldn’t go into the details since many reviews below already commented on that. Despite that many times during the show, I had this nagging thought that elephants shouldnt be doing these human activities eg drawing, playing ball etc. I also wondered whether the trainers pulling elephants’ ears to get them submit was ethical. They mentioned the facility has an elephant hospital though and tourists were encouraged to purchase the paintings to contribute to the hospital work. Do it at your own discretion.
