A hidden gem

Where to begin? This is by far the best breakfast place in Mae Salong, and I highly recommend the mixed omelette and the excellent coffee. The atmosphere is particularly enjoyable at night, when an array of colorful lanterns provide a gentle ambiance to accompany some truly delicious fare. I highly recommend the Yunnanese dishes: pickled vegetable pork, stir fried sour pork, and any of the noodle dishes. The proprietor is a very affable and intelligent man who has real charisma.

Great little coffee shop / restaurant

We stumbled upon this place by accident, and sat down for a coffee. The coffee was excellent, so we ordered some breakfast: eggs, toast, jam/marmalade. That was great too, so we got chatting to the very friendly owner, an ex-army officer. This is apparently the only bakery in town, and supplies all the hotels. Well worth dropping in if you're in the area.

Fantastic Bakery

Hi folks it’s Johno. We had breakfast at this lovely little quaint bakery. This bakery is very clean it is also easy to pass so put into your GPS as it is worth stopping here. The staff are lovely the coffee is perfect and the omelette that I had was 2nd to none. We will be back.

Affordable prices for mains and delicious pancakes

I found this place just behind the Shin Sane Guesthouse. The lady owner is such a cheerful and friendly person, and her menu is decent for such a small town. Try her honey pancakes, which are generously coated with honey. Also, her banana and green tea cakes (in the bakery in front) is moist and fragrant. A must-try when in Mae Salong.

Xin Shi Dai Bakery, one of the friendliest cafe in Mae Salong. Located near Shin Sane Guest House. Serving the most delicious breads, delectable cakes, and refreshing teas. No trip to Mae Salong is complete without a taste of bakery and tea at this traditional cafe.

Lovely bakery with amazing menu and adorable owners

This place is so cute, well maintained, with good selection of dishes and wonderful owners. I had an amazing Yunnan soup for dinner, the woman who runs the place speaks great English and she accepts special requests. The next day I had omelette with cheese, it was good but the cheese was not how I would have imagined it. I tried few bakery goods and had coffee each time, what a treat to find this in the middle of basically nowhere.

Pizza and cakes on top of the hill!

The cakes are wonderfully soft and the coffee is really good. Owner have won first prize for being the best coffee in Thailand! They serve pizza too! Extremely friendly owner!

Excellent food and very friendly

We have had breakfast and dinner with them during our 4 day-stay in Maesalong. Always very friendly. Very well cooked Thai dishes at very reasonable prices. They also make delicious home-made biscuits and bread that we also tried. Theirs English is not perfect but make everything to understand and communicate with customers. Definitively recommended.
